Contract approved by Port Authority Board of Directors

Here are effective dates for implementation of key provisions in the settlement:

June 21, 2007:     BLE members paid at 2005 step rates

June 28, 2007:     BLE members paid at 2006 step rates

July 19, 2007:     Retro paid for all wages owed back to September 8, 2005

On or before July 24, 2007:     Retro pension monies paid.   Contributions brought up to 2006 rates. 

August 1, 2007:     BLE members eligible for same-sex domestic partner healthcare coverage.

June 12, 2007:     All new BLE members enrolled in Direct Deposit.

On or before Oct. 1, 2007:     All current BLE members still receiving paper checks will be notified and enrolled in Direct Deposit.

August 1, 2007:     Remaining BLE members will be enrolled into United Healthcare.  HMO/Indemnity will be discontinued.

July 1, 2007:      New BLE members on/after this date will not be entitled to pro-rated extra vacation days.
